Have those who cry "Racisist!" cried Wolf?

Just a thought provoking question-  Where is the proof of Racism?  As an American, I am pretty tired of unproved racists accusations.  Just because someone disagrees with someone that this is a different color, does not make that person racists.  This argument of racism is a pathetic attempt to make the person asking questions shut up and stop asking.  This is uncalled for.  Not only that, but if the only argument that someone has is that the other person is "racist", it only proves that the person claiming racism has no real argument or defense.  If someone calls "racist", I say PROVE IT!!

I am also angered that news folks and even Jimmy Carter claims that people have a problem with BO because he is black.  Again- where is the proof of that?  Why can these people make such ridiculous claims with no proof.  Just because someone questions, and tries to figure out BO's intent and actions- does not mean that his ethnicity has ANYTHING to do with it!!!

What do you think?

Tana: Why do you call it the "race card?" When people protested Reagan, Bush I and Bush II and Clinton, there were never signs alluding to their color. However, there sure were plenty in DC amongst the 75,000 protesters. A confederate flag on a sign and slang would amount to racism, yes? Would you giggle and find it funny? I sure don't and I would hope you would be offended by it as well.

I guess calling the President a Kenyan and making signs of him in African garb could be considered a substantial arguement. Let me know how that works out.

So, for Nogui and Scott... do you think that "the vast majority" of people against the agenda of Obama and the Democrats are motivated by race?  Do you have anything to actually substantiate that?  And a couple of signs from a crowd of tens of thousands does not constitute a vast majority.

And what about the people that raise valid concerns?  Or can there be no valid concerns?

Amanda, You are correct.  It is a ploy used by those who have nothing better to say.  Pulling an isolated deviation here or there some how brands the entire American public who disagrees with the current administration.

If Hilary were President and someone disagreed they would be gulity of sexism.

Bonnie: And the term "bitch" isn't sexist? You down darned well that she would have been called out over and over because she is a woman. It is happening now as Secretary of State. And you purported to be a Hillary supporter. Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie.....TWO "L's" in the name. Livelong Democrat, my butt.

Clarence Page wrote a column about this subject, which appeared in today's Chicago Tribune.  Page is based in D.C., so I am guessing he was there.  He said he saw only a few signs that he would consider racist.  Page is a card carrying liberal.  From column, I will conclude that any racism present at the rally was the exception rather than the rule.

I still am baffled as to why anyone would make a charge of racism from Joe Wilson's two-word statement, "You lie".  Does he have some kind of history of racism?  What does Jimmy Carter know about Joe Wilson?  I really think it's a bizarre statement coming from an ex-president.

Nogui: Tana is a birther. She posted ages ago about the "birth certificate" issue and she feels that he is not an American. My guess, she feels he is not Christian either. You can't win.

Ok- Here is another question.  What constitutes racism?  One or two radical folks making ridiculous claims?  Does that paint an entire group racist?  How about if someone in a position of power makes a negative claim of another person that looks different than themselves?  BO made a comment about his white Grandmother, that she was a "typical white woman".  My question is what is a typical white person?  He is a person of power.  Isn't the branding of white women "typical" fall under a racial bias towards white women?  What if I take offense to that comment.  I don't have any power over BO.

So what is racist and what is not?  Where do you draw the line?  Because it is either wrong for everyone to judge another person based on color or it is not.  It is hypocritical to pick and choose when it is ok to speak ill of another human being based on color.  Not only that- but when did Joe Wilson make any comments negatively about race?  All he said was "you lie".  How is that racist?

Amazing that this country is so divided and the libs keep using the line it's all about race. No it's about policy. Period.

Sorry Nogui, I'm not a birther.  I am fairly certain he is an American.  But, that doesn't mean his policies are right...  It wouldn't matter to me if they were introduced by him, Joe Biden or Joe the Plumber... they are still the WRONG thing to do.

BTW, I also think Obama is an extremist.  He has lied about his associations... that is a WAY bigger issue than a birth certificate.

Thanks for answering Lane. Tana, I'm not here to bother you, your refusal to answer the question speaks for itself.

Amanda, did you know death threats against the president are up 400%? As much as people hated Clinton- no one went around talking about assasinating him. That's more than just a radical few, doncha think? I'm just saying, if the people that want to kill you jumps by 400%, it might be because of something more than just bad policy. I'm just sayin.

Nogui- So how do you explain the books on how to assassinate Bush?  Oh that's right, they were done in the name of "art" so that makes it ok I guess.  It's kind of odd that the folks in history that have assassinated presidents have been on the far left, yet the far right always gets blamed for it.  It's also kind of weird that BO's friend Bill Ayers dedicated one of his books to Sirhan Sirhan the same guy that assassinated Bobby Kennedy.

But I agree it is all about policy.  I have a question about the health reform bill that BO wants to pass (oddly enough, he personally has not presented anything for us to look over or back up his claims.  I guess he is talking about what the house has presented).  BO said that he is going to pay for all of this reform by taking out all the fraud and waste that is in health care now.  My thought is- what are you waiting for?  If you know that fraud and waste exists, why not get rid of it now?  Its ludicrous to think that by somehow taking out all this so called fraud and waste that you are going to be able to pay for all of this.  Last time I checked though, If I don't have money in my checking account I don't go into massive debt to pay for things I can't afford and will never in my life time be able to repay.

Nogui...  Ford was shot at.  Reagan was hit.  Bush 41 was threatened by Saddam... failed.  A guy threw a shoe at Bush 43.  Did anyone shoot Clinton?  Carter?  Obama?

And how many credible threats were made at Bush?  A 400% increase could mean that there were 4 for Obama...

And there is no denying that there are racists.  Some of them are white, others are black... some are oriental, native American, whatever...  But they are in the minority, and in that case of Obama, some of his supporters are using racism to try to stifle all criticism.  They are using the word as a weapon.

Looking at the death threats up 400% issue...  I found that Bush had about 3000 death threats a year, and the released numbers would indicate that Obama has just under 11000 (annual pace... 30 per day).  But the next questions would involve the credibility of the threats... and also, what threats were or were NOT reported.

Here is an interesting read for you.

http://www.zombietime.com/zomblog/?p=621

The premise of the post is that the media is more likely to report threats against Obama and that the Secret Service seems to be investigating threats against Obama more than they did with threats against Bush.  It is an interesting read...
