I am NOT a public speaker so I really was a little surprised that I was not "stressing" like I normally do when it comes to events like this. So, I decided to begin with that fact itself, "Good evening, my name is Alicia Gibson and I am not a public speaker". Get that fact out from the get go because I knew once I started they would figure it out on their own! LOL
So, we got to the Lecture Hall and got everything set up, made sure the audio equipment was on/working and then waited. The lender who participated called me from the parking lot and wanted to make sure she was at the right place so I went outside to greet and assist her. As we're walking back to the lecture hall she looks at me and says, "My prayer for you has been for you to have "peace" and know that whoever is meant to be here tonight...will be". So, we come back and get her all set up and then waited.
Precisely at 7:00 p.m. we had two ladies walk in and come on down to the front where we were.....waiting. So, I did not have to speak to a big crowd and it was a bit "less formal"..I spoke without using the audio equipment. Actually, this being my first time as the main spokesperson, I R-E-A-L-L-Y felt the Good Lord was looking out for me. I got through speaking without fainting, stammering and introduced the lender who HAS spoken before so she seemed to just breeze through her part.
Buyer Seminars remind me of Open Houses. You go through alot of planning, buying and orchestrating and not too much comes out of it. HOWEVER, we did get one lady prequalified and the other some pointers on getting her credit on the right path. I also have everything set for the next upcoming one because my broker says, "You don't just do something ONE time...you learn from this one and do better at the next one!" So, I'm waiting to see what happens at that one!
