Speechless Sunday ~ Silent Transparency

Each summer my husband and I venture "up North" to Flagstaff. It's always a short jaunt out of the valley, getting out of the high temperatures - an ideal time to recharge our spirit. At the end of each season we again return to winterize our motor-home. There is an abundance of deer and elk in the Flagstaff pines, frequently seen during sunset. Sometimes they can be seen between the pines, a silent transparency.

Ok....where is Surprise? This looks more like Flagstaff? I'm heading through your area in a couple of weeks, driving home from Santa Fe....any suggestions for a one night stop? Not Sedona....done that enough.

We should be so lucky to have the cool pines in Surprise.  Yes, I took the picture in Flagstaff.  Why not stay there?  Nice lodging, Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, or a romantic ski ride in Snowbowl.  Have a safe trip home.

Great picture!  And people back east think Arizona is all hot, dry desert.

Stately tall Pines. Didn't think it was Surprise. We've not been to Flagstaff yet, maybe on our next visit.

Lee & Carol,
It's too dry for pine trees in Surprise.  Flagstaff is where Arizona residents escape to during the summer.

Now there's something you don't always see in the desert. :)
I grew up with pine trees all around me on one side, and the ocean on the other.
I miss the smell of both.

Leolinda,

This is very pretty and relaxing. All of the greens - looks like a great place to hike or take pictures. :)
