You know, I don't think that I will do this for a couple of reasons:

1. Certifications and designations don't seem to carry that much weight with clients

2. Every time I've completed a certification, they end up changing it, making it obsolete or coming out with a new and improved one.

So I don't want to get caught up in these organizations loop of fees.  We pay enough to the boards and related organizations.

Besides, having a short sale certification doesn't give you more influence with the banks.  I'm finding you're better off hiring a short sale mitigation company who have more in-depth resources with the banks and can get quicker/better results than you going it alone.

Most agents take designation/certification classes to gain knowledge, not to influence anyone.  Because of their increase in knowlege, NAR statistics show that agent with designations/certifications make more money.  The knowledge is what impresses clients.  If you already have the knowledge it probably would not help you.

Peggy,

I agree it is the knowledge you gain.  Thanks for letting us know about this program.
