Beware of Craigslist Scammers

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential California Realty

I was made aware this morning of crooks who are taking advantage of your listings that you put on Craigslist, and offering them as rentals. I heard they are taking your verbiage, and offering them out as rentals really cheap, taking deposit money and disappearing. ON YOUR LISTINGS! Yikes.

We should all be aware of this. If people are going to steal, they're going to steal. But maybe we can stop them if we are vigilant.

That is a shame.  Is there anything safe anymore?  Thanks for sharing, hopefully it will help others.  I am going to pass the info on to my realtors.

I have heard of this here as well. I guess desparate times brings out the worst in people. We can only hope everyone is as cautious as you!

The crooks are always smarter than the rest of us. Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to be a crook!
