What advertising is successful for you?

So I would somewhat consider myself new to the real estate field, I started in Jan. 2005 but took a 1.5 yr break in the middle so my husband could go to school in another state.  With all of the different kinds of marketing out there, I'm almost lost as to where I should be advertising - where I shouldn't - which one is a rip off - which one is successful!  There are so many choices and so many places to spend spend spend.

I would like to share some of my marketing strategies, which ones are successful or not, and would love comments back as to what works for you.

1) Facebook - Seriously who is not on Facebook these days?  Maybe the same people that don't own cell phones yet?  I started advertising on Facebook a few months ago, of course this is a pay per click site.  In that short amount of time I have had 951,000 impressions (times they showed my add), and 226 clicks to my site, BUT NO CUSTOMERS from it.  I have only spent $137.  (I have a limit per day what I spend.  It was $4 now down to $2)  Which isn't bad to be advertised almost 1 million times.  None of my "friends" ever mentioned seeing me either.  So is this effective for anyone else?  Do people just click on my site because they know I pay for that?  www.facebook.com

2) Craigslist - If your not doing - start now!  Craigslist is FREE! I post most of my homes on the local Craigslist, and usually without fail receive at least 1 call. (Hey it only takes one, right?) www.craigslist.com

3) Google Adwords - Yet again another spender, but I have asked clients, were did you find me, and Google so far has been the answer!  It is also a pay per click, but a very successful advertising method.  Check it out!  www.adwords.google.com

4) SMARTER Agent - This one is good to post to friends and family, ask them to spread it around also.  It is a personal GPS Mobile Application.  They will personally brand it to your company and name.  Whenever your clients are out looking at homes and see one on their GPS, they call push a button to make an appointment and all calls will go to you!  What more could you ask for!  This takes a bit to get out to everyone, but in the long run could be very profitable.  www.smarteragent.com

5) Personal website - This is a HUGE MUST.  I was paying for a cheap website through another company, only $5 a month, and it looked like and worked like it was $5 per month.  Then I stumbled upon Myers.  They are GREAT!  The websites look more professional than what I already had, and of course set up IDX to go along with it.  I think I pay about $65 a month, which isn't bad, and it looks great! You can even try a Free Trial www.myers.com

6) Google Analytics - A free site to help you find where all of your visitors are coming from.  This is really neat, this site will tell you where they came from, how long they visited, how many people visited.  Really a neat tool.  Check it out.

So what is successful for you? I love to share ideas in hopes to help others.

Thanks for your time,

Trisha, if you consider your-self new, I should consider my-self very brand new as I started last year August in RE.  So far internet has not been working for me . I know it takes time. I'm waiting to see for others response.

Good luck.

Compared to everyone in my office, I am new.  They are all seasoned veterans!  Can I say that without offending anyone? Smarter and Wiser!

Good Luck to you as well! It will come, just takes time...and money!
