Hi Mike,
Those are lovely homes. You're right, they don't make them like that anymore.
Crystal,
The details in the overhangs and the porches on the first one are among my favorites.
Janice,
That sense of history reinforces the character of beautiful old homes, doesn't it?
Wow! Those are just beautiful. I would love to go inside. You would think we would get tired of looking at houses:)
Yvette and Dennis,
The WORST reason to go into real estate is, "I love looking at houses."
But...I DO love looking at houses. :D
Sharon,
The first one is a fine dining establishment now. It is a real landmark. You can see the Clarion Hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn, aka, A"The Hair Curler" next to it, and the condo tower in the left background.
We are talking diversity in architectural styles there!
I can look at photos of house all day...
fact is, I do!!! lol
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Charles,
Me too. And this afternoon, I am even going out and look at a few examples of the real thing. Not like anything in the photos, though...
Mike, I'm with you, the detail on the first one is just amazing! I love those old Victorians -- and their intricate details!!!
Mike,
They sure don't. What great architecture and craftsmanship. These showpieces are still beautiful today. :)
Steve
Steve,
It is a delight when one of these creations is maintained to perfection!
Architecture is one of my favorite things, Mike. Thank you so much for sharing these photos. I love the details in Victorian homes. They definitely DON'T build 'em like that anymore.
aaahhhh.....its refreshing to see such thoughtful architecture! thanks for the photos!
That's quite a departure from the miles and miles of frame and stucco we have here in southern Nevada. Maybe I'll need to go on a hunt in the valley and see what I can find.
Mike,
You are quite welcome! It is like a vacation from "Tract-built Land."
John,
No EIFS in 1890, right?
Mike I love turn of the century homes - not this last one, the one before :) Karen
