Speechless Sunday, Sycamore Sunday

American Sycamore, American Planetree, Platanus Occidentalis, Occidental Planetree, Buttonwood Tree, what ever name you choose to call them, these are very photogenic trees! This one happens to be on the Village Green in New Milford, CT. Old Sycamore's are common sights here, and they can live to be 400 to 600 years old!

Hi, Andrea. Wow, what interesting bark. You don't see Sycamore used for furniture making or construction....is it a soft wood, I wonder?

Good Morning my friend-Love the fall colors in both of your posts. Hope you are doing well. I miss ya. I have been working a full time job in addition to my VA job so I haven't been in the rain much. I did a post about it on Thursday. I probably will have the extra job thru the end of Oct. Have a great Sunday my friend. <SMILE>

Interesting photo angle, looking up the trunk. If not for the width it could also be a sick white birch.

Hello Yvette & Dennis, thank you so much! Fall is here!

Leslie, thank you! Actually I just did a quick google, and it is used in furniture and flooring, how about that. Who knew?

Gary, I hope you have a wonderful week. Thank you so much.

Hi Dick & Dixie, whatever they are called, they are very interesting!

Sharon, I read your post, you are a busy beaver! Thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Pat, isn't that amazing? We have some old ones here, and I never realized what they are. This winter will give me good shots of them. Thank you!

Diane, you are very welcome, they are indeed very interesting trees. They make for good photos!

Hello Michael, I love the bark, I stared at it for a while, then ran and got my camera!

Kent, I love my camera. I got this Pentax because I take a lot of snow photos, and it is weather proof. Thank you!

Hi Pat, thank you! I just love fall, it is such good camera time!

Ed, a sick white birch, LOL that was funny! Thank you!

Jennifer, yes indeed, we will be picture taking fools here soon enough. Thanks!

Al & Peggy, LOL, they do get old. I will share photos of the older ones this winter, they are cool looking!

Debi, it is an interesting perspective for some trees. Thank you!

George, I just love taking pictures, thank you!

Craig, fall is my favorite, thank you! I can't get enough good weather to take pictures, but I will do my best!

The cities plant a lot of sycamores out here, but according to my marketing guru, they need more water than what they get out here, which is why they never look very good.
