The Waterfalls at Riverside Bridge, Christian County, Missouri

 Riverdale Mill

On our way to photograph a new listing this weekend, we stopped by Riverdale Bridge.  Located south of Nixa, Missouri, the first bridge was constructed in 1906 by the Canton Bridge company.  Some of the oldest bridges remain in Christian County, Missouri.

Riverdale was once a thriving community that was located on the banks of the Finley River.  One of the first mills was constructed there.

Christian County endured some heavy rains this past week.  With the water high, the falls were beautiful.

Ben Turner Store

The store owned by the Turner Family still resides by the river.

The old bridge was torn down in 2004 and replaced with the existing bridge.

Thank you sir!  I took these this weekend on the motorcycle riding the back roads on my way to a new listing.  The river was a beautiful reflection of our day.

Excellent pictures and examples of the Ozarks.  One of those days that reminds us to never leave the house without a camera!

Thank you for sharing.

Wish that property were for sale.  I am looking for a site on a flowing body of water - possibly a former grist mill site - to build an educational tour attraction in the Branson area.  It would be a working/teaching hand paper mill, powered by a water wheel, all green construction and all green production, museum/art gallery, multi-media theatre presentation, viewing gallery of the entire production process, hands-on area, shopping centre with one-of-a-kind paper-related items and production of the mill, a bistro with Neighbor's Mill, Harrison, Arkansas, scones, muffins and free-trade organic coffees and a botanical fibre garden from which most of the raw materials for the beautiful papers and items would come...  There is not another one in the States like this tour would offer - and very few in the entire world offering all these educational opportunities...  Got anything like that available?

Shirah, haven't seen this type of property for sale lately.  There are many old mills in this area.  Johnny Morris owns the mill in Ozark on the Finley River.  He is suppose to be planning something with it.  You might check it out.  Branson would be a better location, though.
