Every store nowadays has its own 'green' shopping bag available for around 99 cents (unless it's a Gators bag - that commands $1.99). I love them because they hold so much more than plastic bags and are so much better for the environment.
Today, as I was looking at my collection of bags in the grocery cart, I thought about sharing some of the other uses for them.
GIFT BAGS
T. J. Maxx was selling a darling bag with turtles on it drawn by a child who won a contest (and I think the child might have been from a foreign country?). I needed a gift bag for a birthday gift. Bag? Gift? It was a match! Even with the T. J. Maxx logo, the bag was colorful and fun enough to pull it off as a gift bag. So now the recipient has two gifts instead of one!
Last week we closed on a house with a die hard Gator fan. While in Publix gathering some bread and wine, a Gator shopping bag caught my eye. Perfect! I didn't have time for my usual basket, and I know they absolutely love the Gators. In went the bread, wine and other goodies and off we went. They loved it!
OTHER STUFF
One reason I keep collecting bags from stores besides Publix is that my family has requisitioned at least four or five of the Publix bags for their stuff! Publix bags make great bags for keeping beach toys, miscellaneous files, and storing the video camera and still camera bags together in one place to grab when on the run. (When aren't we on the run?)
INSTANT CLEAN OUT YOUR CAR!
IF you're in a hurry going to pick up buyers or the kids or your mother-in-law at the airport, 'green' shopping bags can get your car organized in a couple of minutes.
YOUR IDEAS HERE
There must be a lot of other great ideas for these shopping bags. I just love them! What out-of the-box ideas have you used them for?
