Since we are located right on the border of Georgia and Alabama and because many agents int he area are licensed in both states, I felt it important to pass on the news of the Alabama Real Estate License Law Amendment reagarding advertising.
Advertising rules were based on "letter sizing", this rule was impractical to enforce because measuring became too complex an issue. The amended rule stipulates that, "a salesperson or associated broker will be considered in compliance with the License Law Advertising Regulation, if the name of their broker or company is prominently enough displayed that it can be read and understood.
Easy enough! Advertisements should include your brokers name or company name so that it is easily understood by the public, what company or broker you are affiliated with and whom you are accountable to. Very clear, very simple. I hope future Georgia laws will be as simple.
