This absolutely true story is just for grins. In light of all the heated dialogues I've read recently on Active Rain, I'm happy to share something a little bit lighter.
Two weeks ago, we moved my aunt out of her apartment and into an assisted living facility in the Los Angeles area. She is a single woman who spent her life travelling the world over. She has visited over 125 countries and speaks something like seven languages. She is highly intelligent, but physically she is beginning to have trouble getting around. So, we had all (auntie included) decided that this move would be best.
Now, at this specific facility, there are assigned seats for meals. Apparently, she is at an assigned table with 3 other people-one of which is another elderly woman who has a significant hearing problem. My aunt, who loves to chat and has quite a lot to say, was having trouble communicating with this specific table mate. So, she took it upon herself to bring a pad of paper to the table in order to accommodate the table mate and hopefully be able to successfully converse at meal times.
My aunt, said something to this woman and then wrote it down and passed the paper to the table mate. The table mate looked at the paper and then yelled, What does it say? I do not have my glasses."
