Exploring Inner Space

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

HubbleI have always had a great interest in space exploration growing up right next to the launch pads in Florida. With the Hubble telescope floating above our heads and pointing out into deep outer space it is not obstructed with the earth's atmosphere. It made me think of

     Exploring Inner Space.

What if we turned Hubble around and looked at ourselves? They say we may not have the power to change the whole world by ourselves but we do have the power and control of ourselves.

So, think about it? That Hubble baby is pointing at you. Like a spy satellite it is reading the details from you. Like seeing down to reading the license plate numbers off your car. Think of your inner space. Your behaviors, where you are in your personal and business life at this stage in your age and in history? Do you like everything you see? Are you comfortable in your skin, or are there a few inner bumps and bruises and hangups you need to work on?

Not to get too deep here but there is a saying that says an unexamined life is not worth living. It does come down to alignment with what we honestly believe we value and how we behave and what we are doing with our time. Think periodically of shining that telescope lens specifically on YOU. Tweak YOU to be the best version of yourself. You owe that to the world. Like a fingerprint or a Quasar or black hole deep in the recesses of space, there never has been nor will there ever be someone EXACTLY like you. Show us ALL the uniqueness that you bring to the world!!!

Hi Gary, some exellent comments. Fred raised the question of how people would act if they knew someone was watching. Someone is. Tami, likes transparent people flaws and all ( pretty much my sentiment as well), though I have so many flwas, I would like to smooth some of them out a bit. I wish I were years younger though to take advantage of the amazing changes in technology and amazing applications and then to learn to balance them better. But there is a learning curve that for those of us that didn't grow up with it. That takes a lot of extra time. Time we might like to use in other ways , regretfully. Oh, I suppose it all comes out in the wash. we are who we are.

Hi Gary - Examining one's life often reveals changing interests and perceptions. I sometimes marvel at the twists and turns in my life...

Hi Gary:

In other words, carry yourself as if the entire world is watching.

Be the best person you can be, which is what I try to do everyday.

I can't imagine being on a reality show and having people watching my every move.  We all need that down time where we can just be whatever we need to be at that moment.   Humans just aren't perfect all the time and we shouldn't have to be.  It's ok to be cranky or negative or tired or angry or scared or even selfish some of the time without worrying about who is watching.  Sure, I want to be the best that I can be and I want to be a "good person" but when I have a human moment I sure hope someone with a cell phone camera isn't nearby.

Hi Gary...I'm in a good place although I've pretty much felt that way throughout my life.  My life has turned out to be so much more fun and exciting then I should have expected.  I wrote should and not could because I thought it would.  Looking back I'm amazed that I expected it to be this good and it is.

I am who I am and for the most part I'm feeling lucky about that.  Sure not perfect...but getting a little bit closer.

Gary-

I'm shooting for the moon when it comes to introspection, just like you. It's tough, but ultimately rewarding. Truth is worth seeking in and of itself, to borrow from another famous allegory.

It is surprising how some people think that their action will never be consequences.  And they wonder why they have problems.

I agree with Lou. We should not be involved with anything we cannot do our best at!

Hi Gary,

I like your use of the Hubble to get us pointed in the right direction. You are exactly right we owe it to the word to show ALL our uniqueness that we bring to the world!

Not an easy thing to do since we may not like what we see.  I try to be transparent but I know I don't always succeed.  Most of the time, what you see is just simple me!

Gary,

Wouldn't that be something to have Hubble look at you with a critical eye and then spit out an unbiased report on its findings.

I try to lead my life by being true to myself and others around me. For one thing, I never have to remember what I said because I know it was the truth. How can people not be comfortable with themselves if they are honest about themselves?

Gary,

Everything in moderation. Hubble is still great looking out, not in. It can make us feel miserable if we get too involved in looking in. There are so many people out who are examining us, let them do it, it  is free (LOL)

Everyone gets upset when I show my uniqueness! :-o  Wow, this one is very heavy and I'm fighting for intelligent words on this one.  Hmmm.  Being critically honest about yourself is the hardest thing to do.

Wow...have been doing a lot of that this year. Still seems like I have a long way to go -- does everyone struggle like this?? But you're so right of the importance of exploring that inner you. Can be a painful process, but so much good can come from it, as well!

Self examination is a good thing, in all areas of our lives.. our business, our relationships...  I cannot read anything about self examination with thinking about the apostle Paul who tells us to examine ourselves and see if we still be in the faith..
