I went swimming in my pool with my cell for like, 15 minutes.  When I got out, I felt the phone.  I took out the battery and just let it dry in the sun untill all the moisture in the screen was completely gone, put the battery back in and....voila. It still works fine and didn't lose a phone number, pic or text!

So far I have not dropped any phones in the water but it is always good to know what to do when it does happen.

The links seems broken.

My daughter killed her iphones twice recently and few other people I know dropped theirs in pools. We tried to save them by rice, but it never helped. And Apple repair ppl see the water damage right away, don't even bother to pretend that you have no idea what have happened:)
