GMAC Mortgage Recovery Department, Is Anyone Home? CEO - Executive Office - Contact Phone Numbers

By
Real Estate Agent with Barnhart & McKay Realty Advisors

I am currently trying to conduct a short sale on a home that has a 2nd mortgage with GMAC Mortgage. I am dealing with their Recovery Depatrment and for anyone who has dealt with them, you know how hard it is to get anyone on the phone.

On the most part you get one of two recordings.

  1. All account managers are currently in a meeting, Please call back later
  2. Due to high call volume we are unable to take your call, Please try again later.

I would Love to get my hands on a phone number for the CEO David Applegate, or anyone in the executive office at GMAC Mortgage. I have some suggestions they might or might not want to follow.

I have found some numbers were you can speak with a rep in the recovery department, but you can never get a hold of your loss mitigation rep handling your file."They are in a Meeting"

             GMAC Recovery Department Numbers

              1-800-850-4622 (Enjoy the Recording)

              1-217-734-8543 Option 5 Ext. 7348543

              1-800-799-9250 Option 5 Ext. 2937859

If anyone can help me find a contact number for the CEO or a number for the Executive office of GMAC Mortgage, I would greatly appreciate it.

Real Estate can and will make you loose sleep, but it is not worth killing your self...Trust me! If you are not a Realtor, maybe you should employ someone who can help. There are knowledgable professionals that can help you such as a realtor or a lawyer. Feel free to contact me...Maybe I can help.

Help!  me too!  I have a short sale set scheduled to close tomorrow 10-28 and GMAC is the second mortgage.  Do you think I can get a payoff letter?  NOT!  Dealing with Citimortgage was much smoother.  At least I had the asset managers name and phone number and their supervisors info.  I would love that supervisor's phone number.  My offer was received 7-27 and still no answer!

Kim,

Did you already have an approval from GMAC, or are you waiting on an approval?

If you already have an approval, I would call the recovery department and then ask to speak with a supervisor and then explain you cannot get a pay off and are ready to close asap.

If you do not have an approval you still need to speak with a supervisor, explain you already have an approval on the 1st and have a clear to close except for the GMAC approval. They should move your file to the top and get you an answer with-in a few days.

Thank you.  Actually I was able to get a hold of a "live" person today with one of the numbers you had provided.  Supoosedly, approval should be given tonight and approval letter faxed by morning.  At least, that is what the person told me.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed and have Faith that it will happen!  Closing is at 11:00.

Kim,

I am glad my post was of help to you.

The reason I made this post was through personal frustration of not being able to get a hold of the right people at GMAC. I will be posting the contact numbers for other institutions that I have worked with so others will have an easier avenue to get in-touch with the right parties.

Good Luck with your sale!

Hi Lisa,

I had the same thing happen to me with GAMC, Once I spoke with a supervisor the mitigator put my file on top and then requested additional doc's that I had already given to them. In this situation all's you can do is get what ever they want into their hands asap.

For me I recieved the request for more doc's on a Thursday, I submitted the requested doc's on a Friday, and I got and approval the next Tuesday.

Good Luck with your sale.

Try Karen Croumbley.  215-734-8543.  She was very pleasant to work with.  She did every thing she said she would in a timely fashion.

Hello:

I have been trying to get in touch with someone in the recovery dept all week. My need is a corrected 1099-c for my taxes.  GMAC mortgage is really sticking it to me with 1099 they sent for 2009. And to think-- all I get is a recording telling me to call back later.  I guess they will start to answer after April 15th.  My  next step is to get my attorney or the trustee from the court involved.  This has convinced me to never do business with GMAC.

I guess I could also send David Applegate my certified letter with the request I need for the IRS.

Thanks for the info.

Hello, I'm currently working on a Short Sale and GMAC is a second mortgage. I have been fighting with GMAC for months now to approve the Short Sale, but they won't negotiate with me for the amount that is being offered to them. Do you know who can I speak with that would help me maybe a manager of the recovery dept.

Thank you Elena!

Trying to stop a foreclosure with GMAC Mortgage.  David Applegate has retired.  His replacement is Steve Abreu.  I called to speak with Applegate and was transferred to the executive advocacy team.  Jessica was the representative from the team, and once I gave her the information, she placed me on hold.  After a few minutes she came back to the phone and stated that she will follow up with Loss Mitigation to see what can be done.  She said that investors sometimes will not allow for the foreclosure to be stopped.  She promised to call me ack later today.

I had also reached out to Michael Wieseler, a negotiator at GMAC Mortgage.  He only deals with clients that are in bankruptcy.

How about this one folks: GMAC did not pay my insurance from escrow account thereby canceling my homeowners policy..... they then stuck me with a sub standard policy with no coverage for contents or liability. I would well imagine that they own Meritplan Ins. Co. also. Now I have to pay a premium to get my original insurance reinstated.

I have been fighting with GMAC tax dept. for months. They have added a city tax to my account for a mello roos. All my papers so there is no mello roos on my property. They have increased my payment over $400 a month. Which I cannot pay. I am a single recent widow. I have spent hours o the phone with them to get it taken off so I can deal with it with the City of San Jacinto, Ca. The city that just had 9 of their counsel including the mayor for political money laundering with developers.

Every time I call I have to go through the whole situation over and over. They can't transfer you to the person you spoke with previously or get a message to. Then if some one says they will call you back with a solution in a couple of days, you never hear from them and start over again.  My last one was a supervisor for the tax dept Jose Rasmos. It's been 2 weeks and when I called back yesterday he was not in the office and would call today. NOT!  I have faxed and faxed and faxed to no avail. I have sent all the proof they need. They are holding my payments as partial and not applying them. I was told they have a hold on the account until resolved. Guess what? I got two 30 day lates on my credit and I have never had a late payment ever. I had excellent credit and they are destroying me.

No one there cares about the customer. Their is no customer ownership. They just keep passing you off to someone else. Return calls never happen.  Can anyone help?

I really hope this email reach someone that can help me save my home like the CEO of GMAC. When I initially purchased my home it was at an affordable monthly payment. ($868). As a single mom with two sons, one in college and the other a senior in high school I thought we were on our way to making our dreams come true. Now here I am only 3yrs later and due to taxes and insurance my home is no longer affordable. All I'm asking is that if at all possible someone could take another look at my overall payment history and they will see that I was on track the previous years with my payments and since this last increase I just have not been able to maintain my payments and take care of my family. I am the sole provider in my home, my income is all we have to live off of each month. Believe it or not my home is my first priority, but I do have to ensure my kids get an education as well. The financial aid my oldest son receives does not cover all of his expenses so I am the only person he can turn to for help. All I'm asking is for someone to please make a decision on lowering my mortgage payment soon because I am running out of time and will do whatever it takes to save my home. I do make enough money to afford my home but just make it seem realistic like when I first bought it is all I'm asking.

Thank you for you sincere consideration.
