Thankful Thursdays - October is a Month of Joy For Us

When I think of Octobers in the past, it brings back some of my fondest memories.  Growing up in New England, the many colors of the Fall, the smells of apple pies and apple cider, hay rides and crisp cool weather bring me into the wonderful month of October.  But today, these are not the things I'm most thankful for in October.  I'm here to remember 2 of the 4 best gifts God has given me, and they came in the month of October.  One year ago tomorrow, Hailey Grace Cooper was born on October 2nd.  She is our first daughter after having 3 beautiful boys and she was a HUGE surprise.  We were not trying for a 4th child at the time, but we never ruled out the possibility of more children.  While building our new Sturbridge office a year ago from last March, we were in shock when we found out we'd be expecting again.  I told everyone that this would be our girl, I knew God had made that plan for us and he did.  So my first thankful tribute for this post is for my beautiful and happy baby girl Hailey Grace.

This upcoming Monday, October 5th, my son William will be turning 4 years old.  He is a character and a half, a challenge and a force to be recconed with.  He is very set in his ways...(not sure where he got that from, LOL) and a brilliant child.  He came into this world an amazing 9 lbs. 7 ounces after people told me I looked "small" and like I'd be having a "tiny baby".  He was not tiny at all!  He came out too big for the take home outfit I had planned for him.  William is now in pre-school and loving it.  He's getting praises from his teachers for what a good helper he is and how well he understands things.  At the end of the day, "strong Will" will have you in tears, but when I think of life without him, it just wouldn't be the same.  So today I'm thankful for 2 of our 4 children that were born in the month of October.  I love you sweethearts.

Kathleen, how wonderful to have these gifts in October! Happy Birthday to Hailey and William!  I too, am from New England, and October has always been my favorite month because of the cool crisp air, my favorite smell of the woodburning stove, and the gorgeous changing leaves. Aaaahhhh! HAPPY OCTOBER!

Kathleen - it looks like you have a lot of reasons to love October. A very happy birthday wish to Hailey Grace today, and for William on Monday. And wishing you many more Octobers to share your thanks.

Thanks everyone!  Hailey is having a semi happy birthday, it's reminding me of that song "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!" because she's liking the crying today for attention!

Sincerely,

Kathleen
