Edgewater Fireworks Celebration set for July 4th.

The City of Edgewater's annual Fourth of July Fireworks will go on as planned, but organizers want residents and visitors to know that some changes are in place.

The fireworks display will take place on Wednesday, July 4th at George R. Kennedy Memorial Park along Riverside Drive, at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The end of the parking pier at George Kennedy Memorial Park will be used as the launching location.  This means - due to mandated safety precautions - that neither parking nor launching of boats will be permitted in this area, starting at 5 a.m. July 4th.  In addition, the intersection of Park Avenue and Riverside Drive will not be open to the public as a viewing area for the fireworks display.

Also, Riverside Drive from Lamont Street to E. Connecticut Avenue will be closed to traffic from 5 p.m. until one hour after the fireworks conclude.

Handicap parking is available at the City Hall (permit is required).

Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for their own comfort.  (Don't forget the bug spray!!)
