If you were to google Mt. Baker Real Estate you would come up with two areas. One of them is obviously near Mt. Baker in Whatcom County and the other is a higher end neighborhood called Mt. Baker in South Seattle. The Mt. Baker area gets its name because of the view of Mt. Baker as you look North past Lake Washington. The area is quite a haven for the active providing bike and running trails as well as all of the water activities one could dream up. For those newcomers who might have just moved in there is also the Mt. Baker Community club. Here you'll find a website as well as a club house that provide a list of current community events, a place to rent should you have a larger event that doesn't fit into your new home, a connection link that holds a newletter, local classified ads, and community links. Mt. Baker is also home to the famous Mt. Baker Rowing Club and Sailing Center. The office is located in Stan Sayers Park and offers programs for ages 8-100. It is open to the public and has classes in rowing sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. The neat part about this club is that they provide for all ability levels with financial aid available should you need it. If one day you feel the need or desire to come explore Mt. Baker all you need to do is jump off of I-5 just south of I-90 and go west across Beacon Hill. You'll dip down in to Rainier Valley and cross Martin Luther King going up to the top of the hill. You will know you are there when you feel the crispy breeze coming off of Lake Washington and if you look North you'll take quick note why it was named Mt. Baker.
