Speechless Sunday: How to Impress the New Neighbors

By

Due to financial circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to buy the house we contracted for. Since we couldn't come to terms with the homeowners re extending the lease, we found ourselves packing up 3500 square feet of stuff and moving right around the corner over a period of 4 days.  Here are some pics of my hubby bringing the last load into our new rental in an upscale golf course community.

Wonder if anyone called the HOA....

Reminds me of Jed Clampett lol.  At least you didn't have too far to go.

Coleen, LOL, now that I am sure impressed the male neighbors at least! I like your hubbys ingenuity, he did good! I would have used a bigger tractor with a bucket loader myself, LOL. Then they wouldn't have let me move in.

By the way I love your new photo!

Coleen...

That's pretty funny, how many miles per gallon do you get?

Jenny - Yeah, we totally Clampett-fied the neighborhood! :)

Jason - Oh yeah, it was a regular laugh-riot.  We had a stressful few months there....but when my sweetie putted up the street on the tractor, it totally helped break the tension!  Keep your fingers crossed that we sell our PA property by next summer so we don't have to tractor-haul our belongings somewhere else.  :)

Hi Andrea - Yup....all I could hear was The Jeffersons "Movin' on Up" theme song in my head when my hubby showed up with the rest of our stuff on the tractor, especially when the only open-air four-wheel vehicles you see around here are convertibles and golf carts.  We're blessed to have such wonderful new neighbors....we got so many visits and so many baked goods when we moved in!  Keep us in your thoughts....please God we sell our house in PA by next year so we don't have to move again.  Moving once a year sucks big-time.  :o

Richard - I think it's more like gallons per mile.  :)

Coleen - whatever works, your husband should have put a sign on the side advertising a hauling service!

Hey now that's creative!!  Glad you didn't have to go far!  I used to have a really cool old red dodge pickup from the 50's that I used to move years ago.  It did  look like the Bevely Hillbillies! But we had a blast.  That was a very cool truck - wish we still had it.

Hi Mike - thanks for the suggestion!  :)

Anna - Me too!  I'm thinking if the ride was much farther he would have to wear a helmet.  :)

Allison - Thanks!  Yep, it was a proud moment all the way around.  :)

Hi Coleen ~ These are great photos - you could use them for a card or postcard for new buyers - they're a riot.
