On friday I spoke to a crowd around 400. I don't remember ever speaking to a crowd that large. I am thinking back over the first few moments and I will say this, lots of thoughts where running through my head those last couple of minutes.
I had 2 openings planned one filled with laughter and one that was heart felt. The heart felt story was closer to my heart. I went with it minutes before the speach. I think it played well. I stood in front of the crowd and could not feel me left knee. I can tell you I did not enjoy the first 5 minutes of that speech. Those minutes where very long, however, once I hit my stride the next 45 minutes flew by.
I think the speech was very good. I don't think I will ever get real feedback, the point is hit your groove and it will role.
