Why is it that entertainers experiment with drugs and booze. It must open up the creative part of us.
Hi, Elizabeth:
We went to see Steve Earle at Floore's Country Store in Helotes last year. My husband is a fan, and one of our friends is a HUGE fan. He did a good show. I'll forward your post to him--he will be thrilled.
Cheers,
Robin
Hi C: I imagine you would like him. Some people disagree with his politics, but it takes all kinds in this world.
Hi Terry: I don't know if it's so much that drugs fuel creativity as it is that entertainers get more publicity, so we hear it about it. If an accountant gets arrested for DUI, it doesn't make the front splash page of People or get joked about on the Jay Leno show.
Hi Robin: I've been a fan of Steve Earle for a long time. I hope your friend likes the review.
Elizabeth, that is a pretty good music gig for the audience at two hours. I thought you gave a great description.
Riding a horse from Crested Butte to Aspen - is the coolest thing. Townes Van Zandt & Steve Earle, pretty cool too -- thank goodness for YouTube or I'd have to go dust off the old album and hear a few of the old songs! Great write up and blast from the past, thanks Elizabeth!
Hey, Elizabeth... been a while since I've been over here to your neck of the AR wood. :) Sounds like Earle put on a good show... and kudos to him for being clean for 15 years. No small feat I'm sure.
Hey Gary, Mary and Jesse: When I write blogs about musicians whom I admire and relate to such as Steve Earle is when I find out who my true compadres are. :)
Wow... seems like such a nice way to spend the evening. I love music. I shall have to check him out in iTunes. I hope he is there. :-)
