Do you monitor your site keyword/traffic or do you just add your site to Google?

Do you monitor your site keyword/traffic, where they come from, etc or do you just add your site to Google? Most think by adding their sites to google and adding a few good keywords normally their City, state, what they do etc believe they are doing SEO and the site will just climb by itself. Well I hate to tell  but you will be waiting years for this to happen but if you want to play with true Real-Time Data and Tweak your site on the fly to capture more leads/traffic then you have to go beyond the quick keyword and submit to Google Methodology.

Search engines are getting more sophisticated and these days users are entering multiple special characters and even narrowing down to the County Road or Area in which they want to live. That may sound surprising to you but I have monitored Realtor sites that have traffic connecting to them with users interested in particular County Road areas. These Co Rd keywords wasn't used by just one searcher it was used over 30 times within a couple of weeks and pinged one Agents website. Now the Realtor didn't have any listings in that particular area but the search engine was picking up on piece of information entered within the site for that area.

Now if I was this agent or Today's Real Estate guru i would have checked out the Co Rd and area in which the users were searching and start blogging about it whether i had a listings there or not because you never know what people are looking for. To this day the agent left the leads at the door because they never followed up on why the searchers were so interested in that particular area.

Real Estate Agents of today need to consider looking into using Real-Time Monorting tools to target market customers by doing some analysis homework, re-keywording pages (Yes Pages - move beyond adding the same keywords to every page because now search engines can pinpoint single web pages but you need to Keyword each page with Keywords that match information in the body of that page), tagging photo's with coordinates, tagging your site with coordinates, blogging about keywords that are pinging their sites, etc. 

These idea's are only a small piece of what has to be considered with TRUE SEO but at a minimum its something to get you thinking beyond the Keyword and off to Google Methodology.

I would be looking for good solid leads to turn more income especially in this economy. And not to mention generating more search engine interest by providing keywords and blogs that are all linked together and that are related to the information and services that people are looking for.

Like you said times are tuff so anything you can do to beat the power houses who can beat us by TV, Radio, and web ads needs to be done. Anything you can use for free is always a good idea just make sure your site and services comes up without you having to type any specific name (your business name) into a search engine. If you can type your local city or towns with real estate into the search engine and your company is #1 then you are doing something right. please share.
