My Mom Is On Facebook And Your Not?

By
Real Estate Agent with Zest Realty

Facebook

Ok when I first sign up on Facebook eons ago (a little over a year ago) I thought this is would be a pretty cool website. I shortly got frustated and quickly left facebook because it seemed to be a ghost town and I was unable to find many of the friends or family I was looking for. So when everybody and their mother (including mine) started joining Facebook I jumped back on the bandwagon. This time it was pretty neat because I was able to find a lot of friends I went to school with and liked the potentail it had to build relationships for our Real Estate business.

I am still amazed however how many people still don't use Facebook especially some real estate agents. You would think this is the perfect forum to be able to sell yourself and your services and market yourself to people you once had a relationship of some sort who may never had even known you were in real estate. I guess my point is that if my mom (my mom rocks btw) who is in her 60's and retired who spends her time on Facebook building her farm on farmville can have a prescence on Facebook shouldn't you as a real estate agent be building your farm?

Ok now that's out of the way I would like to invite you to come join my Facebook world and join our Facebook fan page, we have a money back guarantee however it is free to join. I also would love for you to stop by our Tampa Real Estate Blog and leave a comment I will even reward you with a few backlinks just for commenting.

Congratulations on getting your Facebook page up. It's tough for me to find the time to work on anything more than my profile.

As a "sometimes" farmville addict, I love your analogy!

@Vickie Well that could be a good thing, you must be selling a lot of homes. Let me know if you need help with the fan page but it is pretty easy once you have the time. Thanks for commenting.

@April Thanks April I haven't got hooked on the Farm thing maybe because I am hooked on poker already.

I have reconnected with people I had lost tough with from high school, I talk to my extended family more because of Facebook and I have begun to develop business connections on Facebook. To me its more than just polls and games and mindless status updates. Its been a fantastic communications device.

Thanks for the good post.

Dan, I am amazed too at how many people don't use any of the social networking.  I have people find me online all the time.  I have no idea what is working (facebook, active rain, etc.) but I just keep doing what I am doing and it keeps working.

I love Facebook and use it all the time.  I'm amazed at the people who have found me and the folks I have found.  Bottom line - it's free, it's easy and it works.

@ Jason Thanks for commenting. Facebook sure is a great communication tool.

@ Joyce Social Media is a great avenue to let people you have a friendship with in the past just exactly what you are up to.

@ Michael Yes Facebook seems to be the biggest resource for Realtors of all the social networks.
