Where are the Contests – There are actually quite a few to be found

There are quite few contests going on in the Active Rain community. Photo contests, blogging contests and other contests. Some are special interest contests and other contests have a much broader appeal. I have missed many of these even though I am quite active here. I hope to increase your awareness so that many more can become involved if they so desire.

Contests can be a lot of fun and educational. In my humble opinion a great many here in the Rain are quite talented and just need to be aware of these various contests.

Anna “Banana” Krutchten has set up a group specifically for making it easier for all Active Rain members to find contests. It is my desire that anyone holding contests might post there. I will endeavor to search out current contests on a regular basis to reblog to this group that haven’t been posted there.

I am a "newbie".....so thanks for the info!!

Well, I thought for sure I was going to be at least a runner up in those very scary year book photos. I found the contest on the last day of the last few hours. And....OMG...I looked like my mother!! It was fun!!

I was wondering - is this the only way to earn "bonus" points? How do you earn bonus points besides entering contests?

I am also a newbie. Contests and reporting spam will earn bonus points. Not sure of anything that would earn bonus points.

I have been feeling a void in that there is no announcement system on AR regarding cntests, and I ran into your blog and was feeling luscky, but your last comment shows that the group did not live long.

I think it would be a good idea to have Announcements on AR. not only blogs. have it where the dashboard is. So we can daily check whether there are any contests there, or any other announcements.
