With the recent tragic news of a Mother and her three small children dying in a house fire in our area, a reminder to please check your smoke alarms to be sure they are in good working, it could be the differance in life or death. In our area if you do not have an alarm, if you call your local fire station, they will give you as many as you need, and if you are unable to install them they will do that for you also. You could not ask for more.

Jean, Good post...smoke alarms are easy to overlook...having lived in a condo with a common wall to one that burned it's a very scary thought. I've also recently had a couple of friends lose there home to fire. Oh yes, and up your insurance...you're probably underinsured.
