Lead Generating Companies

By
Real Estate Agent
This is just a message to all of my fellow agents on the Active Rain Network.  I just got off the phone with another fellow Georgia Real Estate agent who tried a certain lead generating company.  I do not want to mention the name, but you know the kind I'm talking about.  He has had it for 4 months a 500 per month.  He is guranteed 20 leads per his 3 zipcodes.  Here is the problem.  95% of his leads are bogus phone #s, bogus email adresses, and/or rookie agents needing help.  While this scamming has been going on for a long time, I hate seeing it constantly happen to new agents.  If anyone else has anything to weigh in, Im sure the community would love to hear it.  I would recomend taking that money and putting it into SEO for your website.  Thats where you will get your quality leads.

Good afternoon Jennifer,

Stay away from generating lead companies!  I have posted probably 2-3 of them.  I have like 100's of blogs though so I don't know where it is or how to refer you to them but you are absolutely correct.  Stay away from the online leads.  The same go out to the loan officers.

Your Mortgage Man,

Nima

When we all stop paying these lead generator companies then they'll stop selling us leads.

These leads are either bogus like you mentioned or leads you could have gotten on your own had you been working like you are supposed to.

Real Estate Agents (many of anyway) are looking for the quick answer to business and forget what they really need to do to build relationships & grow their business.

Like I said in a blog, only YOU can make yourself a success.

Good blog.

I suppose there will always be agents willing to spend their hard earned money trying to do this business the easy way.  I won't be one of them!

We talk about lead generation companies all the time. Don't worry about mentioning their names. Mentioning their name is how new agents identify with what we're talking about.  : )

That's what I would do Jennifer, put the $$$ into SEO results for your website and then slowly the leads will start to accumulate.

A friend used a lead generation company and saw some excellent  results. This was not a real estate lead genration. The setup fee was close to 5k and monthly service was 4k!

They are clling more and more so they must be running out of agents. They all have a lot of bogus leads. There are a few that agents do well with in certain markets but they are few.
