3 cent stamp

On my last vacation in September of 2009 to Glacier National Park, we went to the Grand Coulee Dam, and in the visitors center was this blow up of a three cent stamp.  All the dams in the Washington/Montana area generate hydroelectric power, but what I didn't know is the tour guide said that the power is sent north and south to locations because the magnetic pull of the earth causes major loss of electricity if you send it east and west.  I'd never heard that before.

As you can see, they had all sorts of great memorabilia there are the visitors center. I never knew it was the "Eighth Wonder of the World", until I saw it in this display.  They also have a great movie on the building of the dam.

Currently, the public is not allowed to drive or walk across the dam.  They have done a great job of having picnic spots and recreational places available, and there is also a laser light show after dark every night.

Call me when you are ready to buy, build or sell in the Houston/Tomball area.

When I went in 1973 they were still allowing cars and foot traffic across it. I think that ended after 9/11, as it did for many dams.
