What does this mean?

This is kind of like the blind.... ME... leading the blind.

Technorati is a site that helps to get blogs further distributed throughout the internet.

If you do a search on the Active Rain blog page for Technorati you will find many discussions on how to link your blog to Technorati... and that is what the verification blog was about.

Karen,

you are not the only one lost here. So, Peter, what do we do with it? If we go to Technorati site, are we going to be prompted for a code?

OK... just to be clear here.... It has taken me over 2 weeks to figure this out.

Here is what I did...

I signed up for an account on Technorati.  Once signed up you can go through the process of "claiming" your ActiveRain blog.  The steps are simple.  I did not use my outside blog as my connection point... just my ActiveRain blog.

Technorati will give you a code which they want you to imbed in a blog post... hence the blog post you are responding to.

Once that code was imbedded and the blog posted Technorati went out and found it and now if everything works well... my blog should start to get more visibility across the net.

That is all that I can offer you at this time... because that is all that I know.

Good Luck...

Pete

Peter,

Thanks, now it makes some sense to a confused soul. Is it that the code is unique and I have to do the same and request my code, or this one is a universal code and will work for me as well?

Jon,

I really am not sure.  I would guess that this code is unique to each account within Technorati.

You will need to open a Technorati account to get the code and do what I did.

Good Luck!
