Why Stage A Vacant???

Before            After

                      BEFORE                                                                                            AFTER

Today's buyer has gotten smart and they most likely have limited time on their hands.  Given these challenges most buyers today have resorted to the use of pre-qualifying the homes they will visit by first touring homes that meet their buying criteria in the virtual world of MLS listings.

Take a look at the photos above and ask yourself a simple question...Which shot would compel you to call your Realtor and schedule a visit?  The competitive real estate market we live in today makes it critical to stand above the rest in order to even make it to the first cut...having a showing.   In this new age of Internet marketing stagers face the challenge and opportunity of telling the story in both a virtual and a real environment.

Design To Market LLC has been staging homes in Cincinnati since 2004.  Visit our website at www.designtomarketllc.com for more examples of the impact of staging.

Dear Jo;     I was putting together a stage just today.  And the question came up with my partner,Eve, of how we should maybe, probably, reduce the excess on the kitchen counters ( plants, candles, pictures ect. ) We both felt letting the counters stand mostly on their own and placing an arrangement and just a little color would be a much more current look for the kitchen.  In packing for the stage, I put a couple of extra things in just in case this new stradegy did not go over with the realtor.  Seeing your counters virtually empty, re-empasizes to me to keep the counters of today very simple.  Thanks for reassuring us through your photos on the correct course to take in the morning.          Thanks again

Jo: What a difference a few props and a small amount of nice furniture makes. Thanks for the very illustrative photos.

Jo, when I read your title I thought I better let you know why staging vacants is such a great thing to do and then I started reading...  Your before and after is testimony enough. Great Job!  Betty

Great pictures and post.  Staging vacants helps buyers connect and remember a house, rather than being overwhelmed by unmemorable empty spaces.

Great job Jo!  The pictures speak volumes!  You make an excellent point in which picture compels you to pick up the phone and call the Realtor....:-)

Excellent job.  excellent photos of the difference the excellent job made.  Don't you love how they tried to "stage" the dining room w the vacuum cleaner in the  carpet  in the before pic?!  And, I'm with you on the "less is more" on kitchen counters...that's where realtors also inevitably want to spread out their paperwork anyway.

Nice job Jo!  As a Realtor it's hard to convince people that they need furniture, but these pictures say it all!   I am going to forward your blog to 2 of my vacant listings!  Thanks!

Great job Jo.  I agree, your after pictures are great-particularly the kitchen/dining area.  Unique pineapple chairs too, are they rentals or your own inventory?
