Can't believe nobody has commented yet. I'm not sure about the Real Estate part(I'm on the finance side) but as far as AR; read, learn, post, grow. There is sooooo much information here on AR that is useful and will help build your knowledge in your Field. It seem like a lot of people(not all) don't look at your blogs or don't comment on them unless you are well known. That doesn't matter read theirs. Most people here are very savoy and have tons of wisdom to offer.

I appretiate the advice. Your right I thought i would get a few more responses too. Little disappointed by the Keller Krew. Maybe they are all out selling houses.

I've been with KW as a new agent for 3 months and with ActiveRain for a few days. Here's what I've been doing: taking lots of classes, especially ones that are free or inexpensive. Camp 4:4:3 was the best $100 I've spent so far. You will get the most out of it if you actively participate and do the homework! I'm meeting with my Productivity Coach on a regular basis and have finally put on paper a work/task schedule. I talk to other agents when possible, sit their open houses (although it hasn't been that fruitful for me - your area might be better) and have accepted referrals from agents that are busy (I am closing my first sale from a referral in a couple of weeks).

I've been reading, reading, reading here on ActiveRain and have picked up lots of good, basic marketing and prospecting tips for my business.

 Good luck!

Network, Network, Network.  Build your downline, work the phone, get out and meet people and keep active and visible.  Even in a tough market, if you are visible you can be successful.

Good Luck

Greg- Welcome aboard in both cases. I've been with Keller Williams for about two years now. It is an amazing company. The training is wonderful and the people have been very supportive. I think you will love it. I went to the Family Reunion last year. I'd highly suggest planning for it in 2008. Don't forget to read Gary's book.

Active Rain is another place where I've learned a lot from agents all over the country and from a multitude of companies. People are friendly and willing to help. I've been on AR since about April and it has been wonderful. I think you'll love this place too.

Congratulations and good luck.

I've been with KW for years now and I run the top team at my KW Office. My advice is to read the MREA book at least 12 times. (not kidding, I've read it 17 now). Also, you need to find a way to generate leads. There's lots of ways to do it, but find something that works for you and keep it up. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck!

Hi! Lucky you- living in Austin!  Go to all the KW training you can and make sure to save up for Family Reunion in Atlanta.  It's a great place for referrals, info, and lots of fun in general.  Also, try to go to MegaAgent Camp whether you are a MegaAgent or not. I did that as a newer agent and learned lots of useful things just by listening.  In addition, I had never been to Austin before but can't wait to go back.  What an awesome place!

As far as Active Rain, I've been here two weeks.  Don't feel like you have to write anything at first.  Just join the Newbies group and the KW Rainers and read all you can.
