Brown Addition which is located just east of Idabel, Oklahoma is an ideal community to live in if you want to be near town and yet enjoy the feeling of living in the country.

This post contains some typical street photos of Brown Addition. The photos were taken on a rainy day...It seems we've had a lot of rain this month... waiting for a sunshiny day to take photos has not worked very well!  Also I wanted to give you a general idea of Brown Addition and at the same time respect home owners in the area.

I wish we had the trees your area has. I live in an older Oklahoma City neighborhood just becasue of the trees we have. This looks like a beautiful place to live.

Brown Addition is a really neat place to live.  Our farm is adjacent to the addition and we know the area.  There's not been that many homes come on the market in the area but I would love to do the marketing on them since we are right here.  Our farm has been in the family since 1944.  We've watched the homes come in around us. We have great neighbors in the folks that live in the Brown Addition.  Thanks for stopping by, Joe!

Elyse, Thank you for the kind words and for visiting my site.  I love the area that I live in.  It's beautiful just about any time of the year since we have both hard woods and lots of evergreen pine trees.  Thanks!

Sharon, Our farm has been in the family all of those years, our home we built in 1992.  The old farm house that was on the farm is long gone.. there are some bois d'arc fence post though on the farm that my husband's grandfather put in right after they bought it... we do not move that post!  The fence is long gone but a post or two still remains from that fence. We leave them as reminders to us of all of the hard work that went into this place many, many years ago.

Thanks for coming by and for reading.

If you're ever in Idabel, you must give me a call.

The Brown Addition looks like a great place to live, Judi.  Your office proximity to the addition and your nearby farm really makes you an expert for the area!!!!  Wise of you to make that known!

I really like all the trees!  I am not familiar with Oklahoma as I have the sterotype of it being on the Plains.  My husband was a big OU fan in the Switzer days.  Thanks for the information!

Yes, We've been "part" of Brown Addition from a long time.

Southeast Oklahoma has many trees, both hardwoods like hickory and oak but also many many acres of pine... Weyerhauser has been one of the major employerd in this area for years.  Now International Paper has bought some of their holdings out.  We are in the beautiful part of Oklahoma. :)

OU has fans all across the nation.  Hope he hasn't quit watching entirely.
