Some Blue Box Reminders for Durham Residents
- Remove lids from all bottles and jars before placing empty in the box
- Fatten all cardboard and tie larger flattened cardboard in bundles
- Use a standard sized blue box
- Maximum weight is 44 lbs or 20 kilograms
- Stack boxes to help prevent paper from blowing away
- Put you box out before 7 am on collection day
- On windy days do not put it out the night before
- In winter months do not place on top of snow banks or icy patches
