What do you really do with all the BUSINESS CARDS you collect???

By
Real Estate Agent with Elite Realty Group

I know that I read a post just this morning about giving out your card everywhere you go and to whoever you can and I totally agree - but my question is --- what do you do with all of the cards that you receive?  I hate to just pitch them -  so I have started to put them in a binder and hopefully will sometime soon get to put them into categories --- any good ideas out there on how to handle all of the cards that we collect?  I really would like to hear some ideas - thanks for sharing and hope all have a good day and remember --- if you are out and about - make sure to give your business card out!

Hi Norma,

I add all of them to top producer, my database system.  I categorize them into several different categories - agent, first time buyer, move up buyer, first time lister, subsequent lister, loan officer, etc.

There is a cool little tool out there right now that scans the business cards and automatically adds it to outlook or several other systems.  I saw a presentation and it looks pretty neat.  Definately a potential time saver.

I hope to hear some neat ideas on the subject!

I have a big blue binder with business card pages in it and I have them divided by area of expertise.  Then, when people ask me if I know a plumber or an electrician or anything, I can pull out a page or pages of service providers and just copy the page.

I save Realtor business cards from showings, open houses and  co-op sales.  They come in handy many times.

I save the ones I think I might ever use and cut the others up to use as tabs on file folders (they are the perfect size cut cross-wise)!  Sorry!

Norma, I put the information in my ACT! database. A lot easier to find someone than going through a stack of cards. I do keep the cards though in a box.

I put all of them in the database and market to them, I also send business their way so as to reciprocate.
