We used sustainable, renewable and natural materials as well as some reclaimed and recycled materials. We spent close to 30 thousand and will be doing alot more. This is an acre lot by the reservoir, we paid 210 about 6 months ago.
We used Energy Star appliances, bamboo flooring, slate, concrete counters, recycled cabinets, low voc paints, and elimintated carpets alltogether. There is also some ceramic tile, granite, and glass tile incorporated.
There are state and federal incentives, however we did not pursue those benefits on the project yet. We will when we add the high efficiency LP gas furnace, High SEER a/c and change out some windows and go to a front loading washer. There are incentives for all of those.
Check out http://www.ecobroker.com there is more info there, Cheers!
Again, great pictures :) you have a great camera and keep the good work :)
Have you done all this work yourself? I see that your name is appropriate for the remodel.
Thanks for the encouragement, I have done this myself, with some help. What's really cool is we recycled most of the materials that came out of the place, right down to the wall studs. Our landfill sees 30% or more in const. waste. I was also able to support Habitat for Humanity by donating materials. We are always looking for ways to save money, and contracting the work ourselves and getting the tax write off for dontating stuff that most flippers just send to the landfill is very satisfying.
Pass it on.
