Looking for a great fall color tour?  Why not join over 800 classic cars cruising through the oldest mountain range in the world?  The 10th annual Cherokee Fall Rod Run takes place next weekend, October 30-November 1 along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina.

Hosted by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and Harrah's Casino, auto enthusiasts will compete for the brand new "Best in Show" trophy.  Events include a classic car show and live entertainment every night, including a Saturday night appearance by Little Anthony and the Imperials at Harrah's Casino.

The town of Cherokee has some great cultural attractions as well, including the new Museum of the Cherokee Indians and the Oconaluftee Indian Village, a recreation of what life was like for the Indians. Tribe members in full costume portray their ancestors as going about day to day life in the village, in replicas of their houses, gardens and ceremonial buildings.

Visit the Cherokee website for more information about Cruise the Smokies including a full schedule of all the events planned for the weekend.

Kate from Murphy from Linda very near Manteo,

What a beautiful part of this state you get to enjoy daily. It couldn't be more fun to cruise the mountains in a vintage car!
