Skyline Drive is a 105 mile long drive through the mountains. It is, without a doubt the best place, in Virginia, to see the turning of the leaves.
There is an admission to get on the Skyline Drive...... but it offers many overlooks and activities along the way.
If you don't want to pay a fee, try taking Blue Ridge Parkway, which is parallel with Sky Line Drive. There are still plenty of overlooks, but much fewer attractions during the drive. Peak time is expected to be the second or third weeks in October 2007.
To Get to Skyline Drive take route 66 West and follow the signs.... You'll be glad you did!
