You Can Eat Off The Floor! Feedback Fun!

Real Estate Agent with Vision Realty Partners LLC

Everytime I take a buyer thru a home I get a request for feedback, generally by e-mail.   Not something I live to give, but this time I just couldn't resist.  No problem remembering the details on this home.  This time I could let it worries about tipping my hand and jeopardizing a future negotiation.  I decided to unleash some pent up frustration...but had to maintain a slight amount of professional dignity.  It went something like this...

 Eat off the floor

"Unfortunately my buyer is not interested.  The sellers were home during the showing.  Two of them were in the bed in the living room.  The others (5) followed us around as we toured.  We felt quite uncomfortable, but since we were inside we continued.  You can eat off the floor. There was a pancake stuck on the kitchen floor along with some scrambled eggs and cereal, judging by how our feet stuck to floor there was syrup there too.  Popcorn and candy was stuck in the den carpet.  We stepped over something in the hallway, not sure what it was. There were dirty dishes setting on the tv and end tables.  Just thought you would want to know!"

Sometimes feedback is worth giving!  I had to let the listing agent know what was going on.   For some reason I didn't get a call offering any incentives!

You were not kidding about the eating off the floor comment.  I like the fact they were still in bed IN THE LIVING ROOM... I can't stop laughing even as I am typing,  what a howl!!!!  Lucky you..

Hi Verlyn.....that's makes me appreciate marketing and showing new construction, even in it's rough stage.....the raw lumber is cleaner and easier to walk through than that house.

I recently left feedback that said something like: My client refused to go up the stairs after being greeted by the overpowering smell of cat along with vomit there from.

Isn't it interesting what sellers think is presentable!  Pet odor is the worst!  I was as much shocked that there was a bed, with two adults in it just inside the front door.  Our tour guides (the other residents) acted as if it were normal.

I thought this was a joke, but I guess it was real!  What a disaster.  I love that line about the floor.  I'll have to remember that one.

Hysterical! Gotta love those showings. If that's how they present it to sell, imagine what it must be like when it's not on the market??!! Can you say HGTV?

I'm still laughing! It was probably worth the awful experience just to get a funny blog post out of it, right? Thanks for sharing this!

Hi Lynn,

My clients nearly bent over laughing while we were walking to the car.  I made the comment "you could eat off the floor, want a pancake?"

Sometimes you have to laugh or you would cry!
