Boulder City, Nevada---   Grace Community Church will be presenting its 61st Annual Country Store, Friday, 10/23 from 8AM to 6PM and Saturday, 10/24/2009 from 8AM to 12Noon in beautiful, clean, green, Boulder City, Nevada.

According to co-chairman Don Walker, the event was started around 1947 by the Grace Community Church Women's Association in Boulder City, Nevada to raise money for mission projects and to pay for improvements to the church. Since that time it has become the major fundraiser for the congregation. Last year the Country Store raised about $25,000.00 according to Walker.

About 100 volunteers starting putting the items for sale in Boulder City, Nevada out last Sunday, 10/18/2009. One of the more unique items this year is a medieval helmet that is a bar. Other more conventional items include, furniture for all rooms of the house, garden supplies, baked goods, vintage books, costume jewelry, appliances, small and large, men's, women's and children's clothes and much much more. The rack which holds men's trousers is about 25 feet long! People come from as far away as California to buy items at the Country Store in Boulder City, Nevada.

At the end of the sale all of the left over merchandise is donated to the Salvation Army. But before this happens the less fortunate may pick any items they want for free.

This is just another reason why Boulder City, Nevada was chosen as one of the best places to retire to in the United States according to a recent article in Money magazine. It is also one of the reasons, I am proud to call Boulder City, Nevada, home.

Steve,

This t is very typical of the investor fear which is still prevalent in today's market. What is even more typical is the government intervention that is actually PREVENTING our market(s) to recover. Even though our regulators and congress representatives want to protect consumers and control our lending environment, they ultimately are destroying our capacity as a country to recover from the worse economy since the Great Depression.

With all the changes that are coming our way not only from my announcement (blog) today, there are additional changes that will be occurring come Jan 1, 2010. What I am referencing is the new Good Faith Estimates/Truth-In-Lending disclosures, HUD-1 Settlement Statements, AND possible control over Service Release Premiums, our Government is will forever change the way ALL lenders will conduct business into the future.

Check out the latest I saw on YouTube today, which is coming straight from the White House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0qNEOdtenY. Totally unbelievable!!!

Steve,

What a great event. Looks like a fun couple of days with the opportunity to find some treasures. Wonderful Localism post. You really love where you live, and I think that's awesome. I enjoy learning about other parts of the country, so thanks for sharing. I hope the event is a huge success.

Hey Steve,

It looks like you have a handle already on the hyperlocal post thing. Showcasing area events is a great way to drive traffic to your blog and website. It looks like something that Boulder is very proud of.
