Back for another year of fun, the fair is a huge event featuring agricultural and hand-crafted displays, a midway of ferris wheels & roller coasters, lots of food and more! Opening, Friday, October 23. Ansel Adams: Masterworks From the Collection of the Turtle Bay Exploration Center, Redding, CA. This collection of 47 gelatin silver prints by Ansel Adams represents a selection Adams made late in his life to serve as a representation of his life's work and what he felt were his best images. Called "The Museum Set," the full selection of 75 images reveals the importance Adams placed on the drama and splendor of natural environments. Included in Ansel Adams: Masterworks are many of Adams' most famous and best-loved photographs that encompass the full scope of his work: elegant details of nature, architectural studies, portraits, and the breathtaking landscapes for which he is revered. Here's a taste of what Hijacked plays: Van Halen, AC/DC, Loverboy, Pat Benetar, Poison, Black Crows, Lita Ford, Journey, No Doubt, Maroon 5, Bon Jovi, Rick Springfield, Kiss, Heart, Joan Jett, Nickelback.... and the list goes on. They like to have a little something for everybody. They do a lot of 80's rock but throw in some newer stuff too!! The Historic Columbia Speedway is where this amazing act will perform so bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics, but no coolers please! Sunday, October 25. Columbia Canal: Introduce Yourself to the Fall Line. The Fall Line Consortium, a group including Historic Columbia, The State Museum, Columbia Green and the City of Columbia, will gather experts on the natural and cultural history surrounding the Columbia Canal for this educational afternoon in the park. The cult hit and audience favorite, Dracula: Ballet with a Bite, returns to the Koger Center for its 14th anniversary performances.
