President Bush in HuntsvilleIf you were anywhere around I-565 or Hwy 31, surely you could not have missed the parade.  But for those that had no idea what was going on in our city, I'm here to let you in on the happenings.  President Bush and his 24 vehicle motorcade stole the show in Huntsville, Alabama!!  As many of you know, President Bush was in the Huntsville area to visit the Brownsferry Nuclear Plant.  The visit even changed the birthday travel plans of Huntsville Mayor Loretta Spencer, who stayed in town to be on hand to welcome President Bush to our area.  Employees of the nuclear plant got a proverbial "pat on the back" from President Bush for all their hard work in the plant.  President Bush said, "Thanks for being skillful. Thanks for working hard. Thanks for helping the country."  I'm sure this was a boost for morale and encouragement of those that work so hard for our country.  So if you happened to miss the parade or were wondering why many roads were closed, this is what you were missing.  Many local residents got an opportunity to see the President and wave while holding signs of support while many found out that it was not such a good day to try to go to Greenbriar Barbecue for lunch.
