What To Do With Difficult Clients

By
Real Estate Agent with Harry Norman Realtors 280064

At time I find myself with a difficult client and wonder if I should proceed with the relationship or bail.  But...it is during these times that I learn some interesting things about myself.  First, I have alot of patience.  I am a good listener and I know I can bring a difficult client around by maintaining a calm approach.

I learned long ago when I was in the Corporate world for over 30 years, that you need different kinds of people in the mix to make life interesting.  If we were all alike, this world would be very boring.  I savor the challenge of every personality I meet and most importantly, I always try to enjoy the journey.

Rather than using the term Difficult Clients, could you say that your personality doesn't jive with them, hence it's totally acceptable to part ways? Might be easier for both parties that way (whatever the reason is).

When I've had difficult I set down with them and ask what I have done to upset them.  They usually respond with nothing.  I then explain that their behavior had me thinking that way.  It usually gets all better then.  I probably become less difficult too.  Sometimes I find they thought I was being difficult.

Reality is that sometimes you can't please all the people all the time...Sometimes it works to accept the challenge of trying to...and other times referring the business to someone else may be a better solution. Experience is the best teacher...and souns like you have enough to make well guided choices. Blog on !

Rosemarie,

I certainly give it my best efforts, but in the end, if the relationship is that stressful, I move on...and so do they.

You can't please everyone all the time. I try to first resolve the issue to their satisfaction and if it can be then we move forward. If not it's better in both parties interest to go separate ways.

Sometimes we just can't please a client, no matter how we try........... those types of people I do not suffer with... I just let them go and part ways with them............
