I'm not sure I'd want to be that close to this guy, but he is a majestic animal and looks friendly.

Ann,  As I took photos, I was about 25 feet from him and I paid a lot more attention to him than I did to my camera.  In the first photo, he seemed to get irritated and laid his ears back -- I was ready to duck behind some trees and get out of there, but he relaxed. He stops by the house every once in a while and usually doesn't pay much attention to us, but i don't think he carred much for the camera.

Wow! Did you take those pictures? Obviously not in Las Vegas. We have elk and deer, but they won't stick arond for pictures.

Wanda,  I took these shots in the Uinta mountains of Southwestern Wyoming.  I am building a house for my Mom and was at the cabin next door when I noticed him.  I was probably only 50 feet from the cabin when I took the photos.  Later he came right up to the porch and had a drink of water from a tub.  I was only about 8 feet away but couldn't get any clear photos. Here is one of them:

Les & Leslie,  No, not Las Vegas and I don't think this guy would enjoy the Las Vegas area.  This is in the mountains at about 8400 feet and gets a little cooler - last night was 17 degrees.  And i also have the problem of getting close enough to the animals when I have my camera.  This time I was lucky.

Susan,  I've been hoping for months to see him when it was light enough to take pictures and it did look almost like he was posing.  Thanks for your comment.

Gary...wow would not want to be face to face with this moose. While in Alaska, the B&B had moose in the yard, but never got a photo...my bad.

Rebecca,  It's too bad that you didn't get any photos of the moose in Alaska.  It was probably fun though seeing them in the yard.

This is one animal that we don't get to see in person, at least not while at home.  He actually looks friendly, but I'm looking at his mouth and not his ears.  Great shot!

Jim & Maria,  I think he is friendly, but they can be pretty unpredictable.  Last year a plumber was here and ended up chased by the moose.  I think he provoked it though.  I was thrilled with the photos that I got.  Thank you.

Wow! Scary! We have a place in Grand Lake, CO. Often the local see moose in town. One day, one of the city father's, around 90 yrs old, was crossing the street, coming from church. The moose charged him. Unfortunately, it kill the poor fellow. Moose are very dangerous. we need to be extremely cautious near all wild animals. Give them plenty of room, stay behind anything that will protect you from them.

Marianne,  Thanks for visiting.  In Alaska, they say more people are killed by moose than bears.  Of course there are a lot more moose.  I know that I am always careful around any wildlife.
