Some years ago my daughter introduced me to a friend of hers. He decided to become my 'go-fer' on many projects. He helped on small and large projects. He really enjoyed working with his hands and learning. He quickly became 'helper'.
Around 2002 the company he worked for moved operations west. That seemed just too far from NW Pa/NE Oh. He decided to use the skills he had learned and work for himself. He would do anything he felt comfortable his skill level made possible to do a great job. Good- yes BUT,,, he is a perfectionist. He did lawn work, snow removal, painting, window replacement, replaced plumbing fixtures, minor electrical repairs, and flooring --- little did I realize he learned so much.
I have 3 homes in 3 different states not including those of my 2 daughters and they all need work at times. I began to him work on a home I had in SC during early 2004. Friends and neighbors saw his work and began scheduling him to work for them. He must have installed 10,000 sq ft of flooring over a short period and paint-- who knows how many gallon -- plus other jobs. Soon he was spending 1/2 his time in SC.
Word spread on the quality of his work and his fair pricing. He is trustworthy and honest. Most of the time he works alone. Surely, he can supply references. He moved to SC full time a few years ago. Many are pleased and surprised at his work ethic.
