Walgreens & CVS Make Staying Well A Lot Easier

How many times have we put off going to the doctor because it just wasn't convenient?  Doctors typically work 9-5 5 days a week......some more......some less.   As a Realtor, those are the hours that I typically work also and sometimes it's just too much of a pain to make an appointment work around my schedule.

I had heard about Walgreens Take Care Clinic and CVS's Minute Clinic, but until recently hadn't used them.  My husband got pretty sick with a sinus infection that made it very difficult to drive.  His doctor is more than 30 miles from where we live (I know.....we have to find one closer).  Because he was having trouble driving that meant that I had to take time out of my day to take him to the doctor.  And of course, since he called in with short notice you have to take what's available which was right in the middle of my day.  Darn him!!!!!

My mother, always feeling my pain, suggested the Take Care Clinic at Walgreen's or the Minute Clinic at CVS.  I researched them on the internet and Walgreen's had a list of insurance companies that they accepted and the Walgreen's close to where we live had the Take Care Clinic.

What I found is there is a nurse practicioner on staff and they can treat everything from the common cold to an injury.  Perfect!!!!!  I go home load my reluctant husband in the car and 20 minutes later he's on his way to feeling better.  ALL FOR THE COST OF THE CO-PAY- or exactly what you would pay if you went to your regular doctor.

For those without insurance, the fees start at $62.00.       still less than the ER!!!!!!

It was the easiest thing to do.......We've used them a total of 3 times and each time we didn't wait in line and we were accurately diagnosed and treated.  Plus, they always call a day or two later to see how you're doing.

Now, I'm not advocating that you replace your regular doctor with Walgreen's or CVS, but it beats going to Urgent Care where the cost is usually higher or sitting in the ER where the cost IS much higher.

Take Care and Stay Well Easier (and get well sooner).

They do offer a good service and you can get the prescription filled right there for minor illnesses that do not need an ER. I know you can get flu shots at them in some places also.
