Showing Service Disappoints

Real Estate Agent with The Gibsons at eXp Realty

I wanted to show a vacant house this morning in Aberdeen, NJ.  So yesterday about 5pm, I called the toll free number provided in the listing.  I had never experience with eShowings until this day.  This is how it went.

I called the number an operator answered.  She spoke so fast I couldn't understand what she was saying.  During the conversation I said, at least three times, "Can you please speak slower and clearer."  But she didn't.

After getting the property address she said something about a PIN number that I couldn't understand.  Then something else I couldn't understand and when I asked her to repeat, she asked me for my last name, but she did not repeat what she previously said.

Then she asked me for my broker's name, then she asked me for my broker's name and I said, "I just gave you that."  She said, "I mean phone number."  Then she asked me if I ever used eShowings before and I said, "No, and I can tell you I am not having a good experience so far."  Frustrated on phone with eShowings

"Can you hold please?," she said.  I said ok, but didn't know why she needed to put me on hold.  I Listened to music and by the time she returned this process had taken me about 6 mins, so far.  She said, "We were unable to contact your office for verification.  No one is there. "  I said, "I could have told you that.  We are a small office and do not have desk staff after 5pm."  She said that they would have to call me back after they verify.  I knew she would not get anyone on the phone until Monday.  So, I said, "Can I just call the listing agent directly and get permission to use the lockbox?"  She said I guess so.  I told her to continue to try to verify me, in case she succeeds before I get in touch with the listing agent.  Call ended with 8 minutes of my time wasted and no showing instructions.

Couldn't she have asked me if I ever used them before when I first called?  The explained the procedure and how they needed to verify my identity.

I called the listing agent and they called me back after I was done with my clients this morning.  Got the lockbox combo and previewed the property alone.

And eShowings, they will probably call me back on Monday after my office verifies that I am an agent.   I don't know how much the broker pays for this timesaving service.  Well, I am sure his time is saved, but mine was wasted and his client would not like to hear my comments, I am sure.

From my one experience, I would not recommend this company at all.  Any comments?

You were more patient than I would have been. I would have told the e place to keep the listing, Then called the listing agents broker and told them that they could keep the listing.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I use them often and really like them, so far at least.

Last week I tried to set up 4 showings...2 were on e-showings and 2 were call the office to show. It was Saturday at 3pm and I wanted to show the next afternoon.  By 7:00 pm I had the two that were e-showings confirmed. Sunday at 11:00 am I still had not heard back from the listing agents. That day I showed 3 homes...the fourth?? I never got a call back until Sunday night. I guess you never know.

The clincher for me was that if it had a normal MLS box on the house, I would only have had to do an availibility call to the office and just used the lockbox.  The house is vacant.  But they had a combo lockbox.  (My dislike of those will be saved for another post.)

This sounds like a real mess.  I hope I never have to contact eshowings.

As a listing / showing agent I use And LOVE IT!!

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience fortunately on the showing and listing side I have not had the same experience.  Hopefully you won't have to again either.

If you have a lot of listings it really is a time saver, the service probably saves me about an hour a day or more!  Not only does it save me time, but it also helps my sellers and I to make adjustments to our listing / home based on the "VERY IMPORTANT FEEDBACK" from showing agents.

It can also save showings agents a lot of time and hassle waiting for listing agent call backs.

It is a great tool!

My only complaint really from the service is that some fellow agents do not take 10 seconds to provide very VALUABLE feedback.  After each appointment, the showing realtor receives an e-mail asking.

I've not used eshowings.  It sounds very frustrating!  It makes you wonder what's wrong with using a traditional lockbox!

I wanted to mention that I have since had many good experiences with eshowings, so either my bad experience was a fluke or they just need or needed to work on their procedure for agents who call for the first time.

Hmmm, you would think eShowings would have read this post and contacted me to make me a potential customer.  eShowings?????  That was a hint.  :-)
