I wanted to show a vacant house this morning in Aberdeen, NJ. So yesterday about 5pm, I called the toll free number provided in the listing. I had never experience with eShowings until this day. This is how it went.
I called the number an operator answered. She spoke so fast I couldn't understand what she was saying. During the conversation I said, at least three times, "Can you please speak slower and clearer." But she didn't.
After getting the property address she said something about a PIN number that I couldn't understand. Then something else I couldn't understand and when I asked her to repeat, she asked me for my last name, but she did not repeat what she previously said.
Then she asked me for my broker's name, then she asked me for my broker's name and I said, "I just gave you that." She said, "I mean phone number." Then she asked me if I ever used eShowings before and I said, "No, and I can tell you I am not having a good experience so far."
"Can you hold please?," she said. I said ok, but didn't know why she needed to put me on hold. I Listened to music and by the time she returned this process had taken me about 6 mins, so far. She said, "We were unable to contact your office for verification. No one is there. " I said, "I could have told you that. We are a small office and do not have desk staff after 5pm." She said that they would have to call me back after they verify. I knew she would not get anyone on the phone until Monday. So, I said, "Can I just call the listing agent directly and get permission to use the lockbox?" She said I guess so. I told her to continue to try to verify me, in case she succeeds before I get in touch with the listing agent. Call ended with 8 minutes of my time wasted and no showing instructions.
Couldn't she have asked me if I ever used them before when I first called? The explained the procedure and how they needed to verify my identity.
I called the listing agent and they called me back after I was done with my clients this morning. Got the lockbox combo and previewed the property alone.
And eShowings, they will probably call me back on Monday after my office verifies that I am an agent. I don't know how much the broker pays for this timesaving service. Well, I am sure his time is saved, but mine was wasted and his client would not like to hear my comments, I am sure.
From my one experience, I would not recommend this company at all. Any comments?
