The Town of Addison is heating up as it prepares for the 22nd annual Kaboom Town!, nationally recognized as one of the America's Top 10 Independence Day spectaculars. A special treat every July 3 for all of North Texas, this year's event will be even more unforgettable as the Addison Airport celebrates its 50th Anniversary. To commemorate this momentous occasion, several thrilling features like warbirds, skydivers and military fly-bys have been added to make Kaboom Town! even more exciting for the whole family.

Tuesday, July 3, 2007, 5:00 p.m. - midnight (all times are approximate)
5:30 p.m. The 531 Air Guard Band plays
7:00 p.m. Kick-off Parachute drop by The Black Daggers, official U.S. Army Special Operations Command Parachute Demonstration Team and Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class and amputee, Dana Bowman "Wings over Addison" historic airplane flyover presented by the Addison Airport and Cavanaugh Flight Museum with radio simulcast by air show veteran Larry Strain on SportsFan 990 AM
8 p.m. Local band Studio 54 plays
9 p.m. Closing night drop by The Black Daggers
9:30 p.m. National Anthem and fireworks show presented by the Town of Addison with radio simulcast on MIX 102.9
10:00 p.m. "Cinema in the Circle" presentation of October Sky follows the fireworks

Additionally, a listing of Kaboom Town! restaurant watch parties will be released 15 days from the event.
TRAFFIC
NOTES: Because of the popularity of the Kaboom Town! in addition to Addison Road construction (from Belt Line Road to Arapaho Road) there is a possibility for traffic delays, specifically following the fireworks. For this reason, spectators are advised to remain at their favorite restaurant or stay for the movie at the "Cinema in the Circle" to avoid these issues. Those who choose to leave immediately after the fireworks show are encouraged to travel as directed for a few miles beyond Addison's borders and then travel in the direction you desire.

INFO: To kickoff this year's Kaboom Town!, the 531 Air Guard Band will play at 5:30 p.m. followed The Black Daggers, the official U.S. Army Special Operations Command Parachute Demonstration Team, will perform a special parachute drop. Comprised entirely of volunteers from throughout the Army special operations community, the mission of The Black Daggers is to perform live aerial demonstrations to encourage community relations and recruiting.

Dana Bowman
This year's event also includes a special parachute drop by Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Dana Bowman. Bowman lost both his legs when he collided midair with his-then teammate Sgt. "Wings over Addison" historic airplane flyover
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Addison Airport, an historic airplane flyover presented by the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, will take flight. The show features vintage aircraft including:

- Corsair
- Mustang
- Mitchell
- T-28, T-34, T-6 and C-47
