The Great Bisbee Coaster Race, a documentary film, will premier on at 2
p.m., July 1 at the Bisbee Repertory Theatre, with 2 p.m. showings on
Saturday and Sunday. The film commemorates the races, Bisbee's traditional
Fourth of July activity. Shows continue through the weekend. On Sunday, July
2nd the three piece rock and roll band, High Strung, will perform a free
concert, 3-5 p.m. as part of the First National Rock and Roll Library Tour.
The balcony of the Copper Queen Library will serve as the stage. July 4
begins with the coaster races down Tombstone Canyon at 9 a.m. Between heats,
the Bisbee Iron Man Mile footrace will begin at the Iron Man statue. The
city's Warren section will host a parade at 11 a.m., and in Brewery Gulch,
contests will feature the traditional mining activities of mucking at 2 p.m.
and hard-rock-drilling at 4 p.m. Fireworks will light the sky at dark at the
Warren district's Vista Park.
