Credit Disputes

By
Mortgage and Lending with SecurityNational Mortgage Company NMLS 3116 NMLS #226785

I recently had a loan denied for a borrower I was working with because she had disputed an item on her credit report and the dispute was still on the report. In checking with other lenders I got the same response that Fannie & Freddie would not purchase a loan with a dispute on the credit report that the dispute had to be removed before they would accept the loan. This loan was an FHA loan but all of the lenders I contacted said they would follow the Fannie & Freddie rule.

Just curious if anyone else has seen or heard of this

Hi Jimmie- I've not heard of it and hope it doesn't apply to those miscellaneous disputes most of us have due to unauthorized charges to our accounts.  I'm in the process of disputing a $14.95 charge myself.
