DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS - The City's Comprehensive Plan Update is entering the next stage of the Public Input process. The first step was the Community Survey that was available on line and in hard copies mailed to residents. Well over 400 citizens participated in the survey and the results are being tallied.
The second step will be Town Hall meetings to get additional citizen input. These meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd and Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 at Dripping Springs City Hall. These meetings are your opportunity to voice your opinion and be part of the process. The meeting will begin with a summary of the survey results and a demographic study of Dripping Springs. This report will include current population conditions and trends into the future. City officials will also discuss current City projects and activities.
After the presentations, citizens will be asked a series of questions to get more detail on the priorities and concerns of residents. This information will be key in helping the Steering Committee that has been appointed by City Council, begin to develop goals and recommendations for the Plan.
Following the Town Hall meetings, a series of interviews and focus groups will be held to gather even more information on specific topics that arise from the Town Halls. This process will continue through the New Year and plan development will begin in January.
In order for the plan to be successful, your participation is critical. All residents of Dripping Springs should make the effort to attend one of the Town Halls to ensure they make their opinions heard. The City is committed to developing a plan that truly reflects the priorities of Dripping Springs residents and the Town Halls are an important step in that process.
