Are activerain Featured Bloggers like REO Agents?

This is only an OBSERVATION not a RANT.

I like to read several blogs every day, the first ones I look at are obviously the Featured Blogs. As I was browsing the head lines I came across one that stood out as odd. It was a blog that was for the local readers but it was a Featured Blog. At that point I started thinking back about every time I read a blog that wasn't Featured and how many of those times on the same day some of the Featured ones didn't seem to have as much substance. I also started to observe how many of the Featured Blogs are from repeat authors.

So I guess what I'm wondering is there a monopoly on Featured Blogs the same way a few REO agents have a monopoly on REO Listings.

If you search featured posts, you will find articles written on why posts are featured. Here is a link from Active Rain's offical site -

I do know that Localism is where I have focused my business and have had great success with Active Rain thanks to my Localism posts. I believe my featured posts have been an array of posts from "How I invested $359 into Active Rain which paid off in over $50K in commissions" (which I believe would interest everyone here so therefore was featured) to "10 things your broker should have told you" - I don't remember the other posts that were featured but they were on varied subjects - some public posts and some members only posts.

If you read a post you believe is feature worthy, please flag it as feature worth so the staff that reviews the blogs and decides gets a chance to review that article for a feature. There is a flag underneath all posts so you can notify the staff if you believe the post if feature worthy.

I don't care if anyone ever features any post I write because Active Rain is an essential part of my business due to the SEO it brings my website and Google Juice that ranks my blog, outside blog and website so I dominate my market.

And yes, they are like REOs' agents.
